Museums in Tilburg

This museum has woven different special fabrics for the head-boards in every room in our hotel. Not only will you see four collections: textile design, textile technique, design arts and industrial culture, but you will also see the Textiel Museum in full operation as a textile laboratory for designers.
In Tilburg centre you will find the Palace of King William II that was formerly used as secondary school and where Vincent van Gogh learned how to make drawings! Take a look in this monumental building to see how and where Vincent developed his talent. Vincents Tekenlokaal is more than just a museum, you yourself can also learn present-day drawing techniques.

In the De Pont Museum you will find contemporary art, three large exhibitions a year, an interesting permanent collection and some smaller exhibitions throughout the year. This museum is one of Holland’s major museums, one that you must see. The De Pont museum was founded in a former wool mill in 1992 and successfully attracts big names from the (inter)national world of contemporary design arts.

This well-known pop music venue in the south of the Netherlands was thoroughly renovated in 2015 and is now bigger than ever before as a stage for pop and dance culture. Offering a large hall for 3,000 music lovers, this venue annually attracts well-known international names. The largest music venue of the Netherlands brings Tilburg city a lot of dynamics and international stature in the fields of dance and pop music.
PaRaDox is a stage for music outside the mainstream circuit. The music stage belongs to a foundation called Stichting Bevordering Muziekimprovisatie, which believes that it should be possible to hear any kind of non-commercial music e.g. jazz, world and experimental music without pursuing any profit. Both amateurs and professional musicians get the chance to play their music at PaRaDox.
It is just a 15-minute drive from Boutique Hotel Auberge du Bonheur to the Efteling in Kaatsheuvel. In the Benelux’ largest theme park both children and grown-ups can see and do an awful lot. Together with the Golf Park and Efteling Theatre, theme park Efteling is a versatile park.
A unique Tilburg attraction is visiting the so-called Trappist Monastery. On the edge of Tilburg lies Berkel-Enschot, where you will find Trappist Monastery De Koningshoeven, known for its Trappist beer called La Trappe. This monastery itself is still in use and that is why you cannot visit it because of the monks who are still living, working and praying there. However, those who like a lovely La Trappe can come by to have lunch and go on a beer tasting tour. Get carried away in the history on the foundation of the monastery dating back to 1884.
Safari Park Beekse Bergen, the Benelux’ largest zoo is only a 15-minute drive from Boutique Hotel Auberge du Bonheur. You can choose how you wish to view as many as 150 animal species, because you can go by boat, car, bus or on foot. It has also been possible for some time now to sail by canoe!
Theaters Tilburg include Schouwburg Tilburg and Concertzaal Tilburg on a street called Schouwburgring, the place to be for an evening of music or drama.
