The Glass Hall was designed by architect Pieter Zaanen, structural designer Mick Eekhout, and acoustic designer Rob Metkemeijer. It was realized in 1990 in the Beurs van Berlage as a concert hall for the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. A pioneering structure, the Glass Hall was the first construction in the Netherlands to use structural glass. The facades hang like a curtain from the columns using tie rods. It was also one of the first demountable structures that could be removed without damaging the monument in which it was integrated.

In 2012, the hall fell into disuse when the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra left the Beurs van Berlage. In consultation with the designers, it was decided to dismantle and store the structure. Subsequently, the hall was offered for sale for the symbolic amount of 1 euro. Out of more than fifty interested parties from the Netherlands and abroad, the Municipality of Tilburg became the new owner of the Glass Hall in 2015, to rebuild it in the famous LocHal. It has been in use there since 2018.
